Date Night: Edward Scissorhands @ The
Nathaniel and I have been married 13 years. And we still love going out together. Recently, I asked him if he wanted to check out one of his old favorites, Edward Scissorhands, at Baltimore's historic Senator Theater.
We've never been there together, and though we've been there individually over the years, there's nothing like experiencing something as a couple the first time. When I initially moved to Baltimore in 2000, The Senator was the movie house closest to me. I remember seeing Harry Potter there on opening night. I might have been the only person not dressed in the colors of my favorite house. The art deco theater was built in 1939 and underwent a massive renovation in 2014.
There's still magic when those long curtains sweep open and the first notes of the opening song fill the stillness of the theater. If you haven't been to watch a movie at the Senator, you should go.
We had a fun night with Mr. Scissorhands - both viewing him on the big screen for the first time.
Inspired by Winona Ryder's character, we danced our way out the lobby and onto the street- even though there was no snow. Because sometimes love makes its own music...
