Tech Week Rehearsals

This week has been really special. I've been watching a play I wrote last fall come to life in stage. My first professional show with paid actors/director/stage manager, staged by Building Better People Productions in Annapolis. The show is called "Friendlier Fables and Thoughtful Tales," and is the premier of three short plays. The first is by Lynne Streeter Childress, the second by Ricardo Rivera and the final play is mine. Each playwright was tasked with recreating a fairy tale, fable or nursery rhymes to be kinder, more compassionate and inclusive.

My play reexamines nursery rhymes such as Little Bo Peep, the Itsy Bitsy Spider, Peter Pumpkin Eater and Miss Muffet, resulting in humorous and contemporary takes on the classic poems.

If you are in the area, consider joining us for this delightful show with your family. Cheer on friends like a not-so-ugly duckling and a boy who cries wolf for reasons you might not expect as they learn to respect themselves and others in a funny, engaging show for all ages!
